summer escapades 2005

April is almost over and the rainy season is ready to set in. I had a great time this month going from one beach resort to another. Braving the scorching heat, hitting the waves, an endless walk on the white sand, and just enjoying the gift of nature is really a great way to break to monotony of office work. I’ve been to three beach resorts this month, and it was one hell of a trip!

Paradise Island – I went there with my friends in high school last easter Sunday. We had a great time, except that we had an unlimited swim since it was low tide. Yan ang hirap sa Paradise lalo na sa tanghali. Kailangan mo pa habulin yung tubig to the point na halos makatawid ka na sa kabilang island…whew! Pero ok lang, I still had a great time with my friends.

Boracay Island – Wow! This was the highlight of my career…ay of my summer escapades diay, hehehe…I went there with inay and ate yeng. Stayed for 3 days and two nights. Walked from station 3 to station 1 lots of times para lang mang-spot ng celebrities (hehehe…). Went to Talipapa 3 times before going home. Sipped the infamous Jona’s shakes. Had my first henna tattoo (check out my pics on the lower right side of this page) stamped on the back of my right shoulder. Wore (for the first time and to the amazement of my friends) a two piece swimsuit, but still had my shorts on while swimming (hehehe…). Boarded a twenty-seater plane on the way to Caticlan. Watched Pido and Paolo Santos on a free concert while lying on the sand and watching the stars and moon. Listened to Drops of Jupiter by Train over and over again to and from Boracay. Walked, took pictures…walked, took pictures…walked, took pictures…walked.....

Pearl Farm Beach Resort – our last “pit stop”. Located at Samal Island, a 45 minute boat ride from davao city. The resort was great. The food was delicious. The water was so clear you can’t resist to take a dip. The Malipano Island, (an island fronting Pearl Farm) is good for people who don’t want crowded beach resorts. Parang amin yung island kasi kami lang yung naliligo sa beach and kami lang ang tao sa beachfront. Meron naman silang mga guest na dun naka-check in pero parang mga takot sa init ng araw kaya nagkukulong sa kwarto. Anyways, we left Pearl Farm at 4pm aboard a motorboat. During the 45 minute ride, me and my sis splurged on her iPod listening to Moonpools and Caterpillars’ SOON(/me singing --- “ooohhh, it’s said and done”)…it felt like I was doing an mtv while my hair was constantly blown by the wind…hehehe…
